A Tires 101 lesson on ...  Stored Tires Maintenance

  • When storing tires, always lay them flat in a dark, cool area which is out of direct sunlight.
  • Keep the tires away from electrical motors and compressors, as the static electricity will dry out the rubber.
  • Do not lay tires on any chemicals or petroleum products (such as oil) or the rubber will get soft and rot.
  • When cleaning tires, always use a product approved for tire care (such as Armor All products).  Non-approved products may work in the short term, but look bad soon afterwards.
